Who is on this list

Every business here holds an active Connecticut Home Improvement Contractor registration with the Department of Consumer Protection, taken from DCP’s own registration data on September 10, 2026, and is here because its registered name says flooring — the registration itself names no trade. Registration means a written-contract law and the state Guaranty Fund behind the job; it is not an exam, a bond or an insurance policy. What the license does and doesn’t tell you →

Do it yourself

Check any Connecticut registration in two minutes

1. Get the number

Connecticut requires the HIC number on every contract, estimate and advertisement. A contractor who can’t produce it on the spot has answered the question.

2. Look it up

DCP’s eLicense, with “Home Improvement Contractor” as the credential type. The record shows status, expiry and any discipline.

3. Ask for what the state does not

A certificate of liability insurance, and the written contract Connecticut law requires — start and end dates, the total price, and the three-day right to cancel. Without the contract the Guaranty Fund cannot help you.

Then do the part no registry can: three bids, references from jobs over a year old, and a written contract. Hiring a flooring contractor covers what to ask.

How this list is made

Public records, in the open

Every business here was taken from DCP’s registration data on September 10, 2026, not from a sign-up form. The verified block on each card comes from the state record and only changes when the record does. A business that wants a correction should correct it with the board; it will flow through on the next build.

If a sponsored position is ever offered, it will be labeled as one, and it can only reorder businesses that already qualify. It cannot put an unlicensed business on this page. That rule is the page.

License status is as of the date shown on each card and can change at any time. The board does not endorse any contractor, and neither does this list — a license means the minimum legal standard was met. Check the current record before you sign anything.
