Your data

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-09-13. This page explains what this site collects, what it does not, and how advertising cookies are handled if you see ads here.

The short version

There are no accounts or logins on this site. The only form is an optional newsletter signup — nothing else asks for your information. We do not sell data. If you see an ad here, it is served and controlled by the advertiser's own cookies — not ours — and you can opt out of personalized ads through the links below.

In plain terms

What this site collects

We collect

Standard technical logs from Firebase Hosting (the Google infrastructure this site runs on): IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp. This is passive server-log data used for hosting, security and abuse prevention — the same thing essentially every website on the internet logs by default. We also use Google Analytics to see aggregated traffic patterns — which pages get visited, roughly where from, and which device types — never anything that identifies you personally. If you sign up for the newsletter in the footer, we collect the email address you provide, via our email provider, MailerLite — used only to send that newsletter, never sold or shared.

We do not collect

No accounts or logins exist on this site. Nothing outside the optional newsletter form asks for your name, email or any other personal information. No cookies or local storage are set by this site's own code. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.

If you see ads here

Advertising and cookies

This site may display advertising through third-party networks such as Google AdSense. These networks use cookies and similar technology to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and Google's own use of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one.

You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, or through the industry-wide opt-out at aboutads.info. Most browsers also let you block or delete third-party cookies directly in their settings.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how a site should respond to it, so this site does not currently change its behavior based on that signal.

Infrastructure

Other services this site uses

This site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google Cloud service, which is the source of the standard technical logs described above. It also uses Google Analytics to understand traffic at an aggregate level — which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and general device and browser trends. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to do this; Google's use of that data is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not this one. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking sitewide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, in addition to the general cookie controls described above.

It also runs Ahrefs Web Analytics, a second, simpler visitor counter: which pages are viewed and which site sent the visitor. Ahrefs describes it as cookieless — it sets no cookie and keeps no profile of you — and its handling of the data it does collect is governed by Ahrefs' own privacy policy.

The optional newsletter signup is handled by MailerLite. Signing up sends your email address directly to them; we never see or store it ourselves. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and MailerLite's own privacy policy governs how they handle it.

One more thing

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone in that age group.
