Licensed flooring installers in Nevada

318 businesses hold a current C-16 Finishing Floors license with an address of record in Nevada, per the State Contractors Board listing on September 9, 2026. Every one of them is on this site, by city and county, with its license record. Nothing else gets a business on the list — not a sign-up, not a review score, not a payment.

The standard in Nevada

Nevada licenses flooring as its own trade. A C-16 Finishing Floors license — or one of its sub-classifications, C-16A Covering Floors for carpet, resilient, laminate and wood coverings, C-16D Carpet Laying, C-16E Urethane Coatings — means the qualifying person showed four years of experience, passed a trade exam and a business-and-law exam, and filed a bond. Every Nevada license also carries a monetary limit: the largest single contract the board allows, set from the licensee’s financial statement, with the bond sized to it. Any job over $1,000 in labor and materials requires a license.

Tile is a separate classification, C-20 Tiling, terrazzo and marble are C-19, and a general building contractor (B) can install floors inside a larger job. The businesses here are the ones whose license is the floor itself.

How a listing is verified

What the record shows, and what it can’t

What we check

  • License status and expiration date
  • Classification and sub-classification held
  • Monetary limit — the largest single contract allowed
  • Any limitation the board wrote onto the license

What we can’t know from it

  • Whether the work is any good
  • What they charge
  • Whether they are taking jobs this month
  • Bond and workers’ comp details — those sit on the license record at NSCB, one click from each card

A license is the floor, not the ceiling. Get three bids and put them on the same footing.

How often

  • The whole list is re-pulled from the board with every site build
  • A license that drops off the board’s active list drops off here the same day
  • Every card shows the date the register was read

Do it yourself

Check any Nevada license in two minutes

1. Get the number

Nevada requires it on every contract, bid and advertisement. A contractor who can’t produce it on the spot has answered the question.

2. Look it up

The board’s License Search, by number or business name. The record shows classification, monetary limit, bond, workers’ comp and any discipline.

3. Check the limit against your job

A $10,000 monetary limit means the board has not approved that business for a $30,000 contract. Compare the limit on the card with your bid before you sign, and confirm C-16 or C-16A is on the classification list.

Then do the part no registry can: three bids, references from jobs over a year old, and a written contract. Hiring a flooring contractor covers what to ask.

Common questions

Licensed installers in Nevada — frequently asked

Yes, for any job over $1,000 in labor and materials. The classification is C-16 Finishing Floors, or its sub-classification C-16A Covering Floors for carpet, vinyl, laminate and wood coverings, issued by the Nevada State Contractors Board. Tile setters hold a separate C-20.

The largest single contract the board allows that licensee to take, set from the financial statement they filed and matched by the size of their bond. It is on every Nevada license and on every card here. A bid above the limit is a bid the board has not approved that business to perform.

Usually one of three reasons: the license is a B general building license rather than a C-16, the address of record is outside Nevada, or the license is not currently active on the board’s listing. The list is pulled whole from NSCB with every build, so a licensee who is missing today should check their record with the board.

No business is on this page because it paid, and no business is off it because it did not. Listings are sorted by license number, oldest first. If a sponsored position is ever offered it will be labeled as one and can only reorder businesses that already qualify.

References from jobs over a year old, three written bids on the same scope, and the contract itself. The license sets the legal floor; the hiring guide covers what to ask above it.

How this list is made

Public records, in the open

Every business here was taken from the State Contractors Board listing on September 9, 2026, not from a sign-up form. The verified block on each card comes from the state record and only changes when the record does. A business that wants a correction should correct it with the board; it will flow through on the next build.

If a sponsored position is ever offered, it will be labeled as one, and it can only reorder businesses that already qualify. It cannot put an unlicensed business on this page. That rule is the page.

License status is as of the date shown on each card and can change at any time. The board does not endorse any contractor, and neither does this list — a license means the minimum legal standard was met. Check the current record before you sign anything.
