Bamboo Flooring-The Other Hardwood Option

There are many common surfaces people use when installing a new floor. Unfortunately, many people aren't aware of the benefits that bamboo flooring provides. Because of it's many advantages, you should seriously consider it before you decide on a surface for your floor.

Because it is not widely displayed in popular media, many people don't recognize bamboo as a readily available product. Many assume that it can only be found in extremely remote parts of the world.

Bamboo can reach maturity after four years. However, oak, lumber, and other sources of wood can take about 65 or more years until they are full grown. This makes bamboo flooring much more economically friendly because it is so easily replenished.

Consumers are becoming more aware of environmental preservation. Millions of acres of land are lost every year due to deforestation. Bamboo flooring is an option that keeps natural resources more sustainable.

As many people know, higher supply equals less demand. Because bamboo is so plentiful, the price is relatively low. It looks beautiful and always enhances the spaced it is installed in. You can also expect it to last for 18 years or more if it is properly cleaned and inspected.

When using bamboo flooring, you must make sure that you do not install in an area that can induce bending. Make sure that the surface is accurately measured and flat. This will prevent possible bending in the future.

Make sure that you won't be installing in an area that is inclined to flood or be exposed to water damage. Bamboo is resilient to spills and mopping, however, serious exposure to underlying water may cause bending.

Bamboo flooring is non expensive, environmentally sound, and a beautiful addition to any home. Consider this material as a serious option before you install your hardwood floor.
