Superhero Tile Has One Weakness

by Rick Amorey

Every superhero has some sort of weakness. Superman may be nigh-indestructible, and with superpowers to boot, but there are various kryptonite that could make him ill. Less popular, but still just as true, is the Green Lantern's inability to use his power ring on yellow objects.

On a different topic, there are a lot of flooring material types that are the peak of excellence in terms of elegance. Like superpowers. Tile is foremost among them, as they give a magnificent finish to floors. But, like the aforementioned superheroes, tile has a weakness.

You will need to put grout in your home and office, if you want to put tiles on these particular places. Grout acts as a bonding agent, and this cement-like material is poured onto the floor and between the tiles after the tiles are laid. So, why is it considered a weakness of tiles, if it is as tough as cement?

Unlike the extremely durable tile materials that are out in the market today, grout suffers from one problem - the fact that it is porous. This means that the dirt and grime and liquid may settle inside these tiny holes, eroding the otherwise tough material from within. And when the grout is destroyed, the tiles soon follow.

So, how do we prevent a catastrophe like this from happening? Like Superman, his best solution was to just stay away from kryptonite as much as he can. This can be the same solution for grout. Keep the harmful things away from it, and keep it clean by doing minor cleaning occassionally.

You could of course clean it yourself, but why go through the trouble? Cleaning grout is a very hard task, and you will only do a mediocre job at best. Instead, contact the Richmond Tile and Grout Cleaners. These professionals will ensure that you need not fear kryptonite anymore.
