Because carpets cost so much, it is better to take care of them for longer use. If you are using carpet to cover your floors, you are probably thinking of how to clean carpet to remove carpet stains and to maintain its cleanliness. Carpets are commonly cleaned by using a vacuum but this may not be enough to remove carpet stains and dirt. Here are the different ways of taking care and cleaning your carpets.
Vacuum is the first solution everyone would always think of when it comes to cleaning the carpet. Vacuum can remove soil or dirt on the carpet so take some of your time to do it regularly but make sure that the way you do the vacuuming process is correct to avoid your carpet from being damaged.
To properly vacuum the carpet, you should choose the vacuum that is right and proper for your carpet. You should always check the vacuum if it has dual motors, good filtration, correct brush height, beater bar or rotating brush, and a top loading bag (not the bottom loading bag) before buying one.
For some carpets that had accumulated too much dirt and stains over time, vacuum may not be enough to remove the carpet stains. The carpet would need thorough cleaning by using shampoo, carpet machines, or other carpet stain cleaners. Before pre-spraying the shampoo, clean the carpet first with vacuum.
Shampooing the carpet is done by spraying the shampoo on to the carpet. Leave the shampoo for a while because it will loosen up the dirt that had been embedded in the carpet. When the carpet is already dry, vacuum it thoroughly. Just make sure that you do not overuse the shampoo.
If the stain is already in an extreme condition and vacuum is no longer applicable, steam cleaning is another option to remove carpet stain. The liquid-based cleaning agent plus the use of steam-cleaning machine can remove carpet stains as well.
Carpets can last up to more than ten years if you know how to take care of it. If you can not afford to acquire expensive machines and vacuum for carpet maintenance, or if you cannot afford to pay for carpet assistance from agencies, you should know how to do the right way of cleaning the carpet by yourself at home. There are some ways to maintain the good condition of the carpet and to remove carpet stains.
There are times someone in your family would accidentally spill a drop of chocolate or other colored drinks in the carpet. To immediately clean the stains, you can use kitchen products like vinegar, baking soda, lemon drops, or mild detergents and bath soap. Some home-made solutions are mixture of ammonia and water, alcohol and water, or baking soda and essential oils. You can also pay for carpet cleaning people if you can not remove the carpet stains by yourself.
To keep your floor clean and fresh inside the house, you should maintain the cleanliness of the carpet by using vacuum or other cleansers. Tell your family members, visitors, and friends to clean their shoes first before stepping into the carpet, or might as well, remove the shoes. Always provide clean door mat where they can have their feet and shoes clean.
