Colorfastness is something you will want to check before buying your area rug. To test this, dampen a cloth and rub it across the rug, if the color comes off onto the cloth, you should keep shopping. Only a rug that is colorfast will be less likely to fade and will last a lot longer.

The area rug you choose will tell all about the design you like. Choosing one needs to be an extension of your taste. Time should be spent to decide on the type of area rug you choose for your room.
