How do I choose the grout for my ceramic tile floors?

Answered By Fran Fratelli, Editor

The proper grit and color of grout can make a big difference between an attractive floor and an unequal mess. The following are simple tips on how to choose the right grout for your ceramic tile floors:

- Choose from a big color pallet. There are many colors available in grouts so you should not limit choices to what only one store has to offer you. Match the color to your tiles and walls.

- Inspect some examples of completed projects. The grout's color actually changes from dry powder, to wet, up to the finished project. So, decide on the color when you already see the finished line for yourself. Do not depend on what you see on the pictures given to you by the manufacturer.

- Carefully select your grit. The grit of the grout can make a difference. It should be based on the measurement of the gap you will be filling with the grout.
